Palm Trees

My first experience of a building that was implemented, Queen Alia Airport was designed in harmony with the local climate, characterised by hot days and cold nights. The massive, concrete roof is inspired by palm leaves. Covered with black metal sheets, it heats up during the day and causes condensation during the cool nights, delivering usable water to the building. I collaborated on this project as one of the architectural team members from Foster+Partners. I was responsible for traffic flow coordination and the early development of the roof structure. More detailed information about the project is available here: www.fosterandpartners.com
